Writing Center

The Writing Center is a free resource providing assistance with any writing, at any level, from any discipline. The Writing Center is open to all current students, faculty, and staff. We regularly work with undergraduate and graduate writers from various disciplines, including non-native English speakers.

Employment opportunities

The CMU Writing Center employs undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. Student consultants apply for a position and then must take an intensive training course during their first semester of working at the Center. Consultants regularly attend staff meetings and many attend and present at local, regional, and national Writing Center conferences.
